About

Our Alternative Berlin team of local and international guides / artists are superbly trained and active members of the street art, graffiti, underground/ alternative scenes in this city.

Our guides are some of the most interesting and knowledgable people on the topics we cover ranging from local Street artists, Graffiti writers, curators, festival organizers, dj´s, producers, burlesque performers, band members, film makers, psy-fi make-up artists, street performers, club promoters and people involved in community initiatives in the city of Berlin.

In 2006 we invented the Alternative tours concept in Berlin to show other responsible, respectful and open minded people the raw and artistic side of this great city. To support the places we love and which we felt needed our help before they were swallowed up and changed forever.

With  an extensive connections to associations, organizations, local business’, artists, crews, collectives etc it is our aim to give you unique experiences and superb value for your time and money.

We have an in-depth and personal understanding of the places, people and Berlin´s art scenes, offering our tours to individuals, companies, students and special interest groups on a daily basis for the past 10 years. We are also proud to be a sponsor of various projects, events and initiatives in the local community. Unlike other imitators who see our Alternative tours as a new fad to cash in on, we live and breathe this stuff and we are in it for the long haul. No guide books or anyone for that matter can take you as close to the action as we can.

Our commitment to safe, responsible underground tourism is a top priority and we hope you will respect our ideals and contribute in some way to the vibe of these places you visit. You’ll meet some wonderful personalities and gain some unforgettable life experiences on our tours and activities. So be adventurous and experience Alternative Berlin with us!

krts2

KURTIS

Kurtis found his graffiti addiction from drawing in his fellow student’s books, on teachers’ desks, and the boys’ and girls’ bathrooms of his school in Pittsburgh, PA. Nearly the same time discovering crews and artists, Sesk, Seek, Krush, NSF and TimeBomb he felt compelled by the fades, the contrasts, 3D effects, the Icy Blues and Ultra Whites, the fatcaps, the wildstyles with the crisp and solid outline finishes, to take his art further. 10 years later in Brooklyn, New York where he lived another 10+ years, he found himself doing the same thing. Now living in Berlin, he spends his life creating music under the name KRTS with well-known and successful indie-label, Project: Mooncircle. Tour guide by day, Graffiti writer and musician by night.
