Alternative Berlins Top Five For March!

By Hannah Graves

Once again, we’re really spoilt for choice choosing just five Berlin events to feature for March, but here’s our pick of what’s happening in the hauptstadt this month! Don’t forget to keep an eye on our Facebook page for other top tips and we are also on Instagram! We’ll be posting photo’s from out and about in the city and sharing yours, so just tag us #alternativeberlintours.

1 – Vagabund Brauerei Tap Takeover (plus karaoke) – The Castle

The craft beer boom shows no signs of slowing and why should it? This month Berlins own Vagabund Brauerei have a tap takeover planned at The Castle Pub, with a twist. A bunch of great local beers AND karaoke. What a combination!

2 – Creepy Crypt No 1 at Rollberg-Kinos

Specially curated horror movie night? YES PLEASE. First film up on the Creepy Crypt list is Deathgasm. Expect blood, horror and humour! We’re interested to see what other films this night will come up with in the future. MWA HA HA HA!

3 – Berlin Feminist Film Week – Babylon

On the subject of film, it’s also feminist film week this month, there’s a lot of films on show, as well as talks, quizzes and parties.

The Berlin Feminist Film Week is a feminist film festival founded in Berlin in 2014. We are dedicated to films made by and about women and queer people, we strive for an anti-racist, anti-sexist, trans-inclusive and LQBTQI*-sensitive agenda. The film industry still lacks a lot of diversity, we are here to help”

4. The House Of Red Doors No 2 – Zur wilden Renate

We’ve blogged about Bad Bruises before, the mega creative duo behind this awesome new immersive night. Two of Alternative Berlins own really out did themselves with the first night of this new concept party, and the whole of Berlin is buzzing for the next one. Don’t miss the second House Of Red Doors. It’s going to be a blast!

5. Bad Ideas and The Lion And The Wolf – Cassiopeia

If you’re into live music, Berlin is heaven. A must stop for touring bands of all genres and a hot bed of home based talent too. Our go to gig for this month is Bad Ideas. Borrowing their name from the lyrics of an old Alkaline Trio song, BAD IDEAS is a British punk rock group that owes as much to the youthful swagger of 90’s Brit-pop groups and guitar led indie bands as it does trans-atlantic punk rock. With support from The Lion And The Wolf, a popular DIY singer/songwriter this should be a really fun way to finish the month!

We look forward to flying through March and into April, if you want us to feature you’re event, you can post the details to our Facebook page. Or simply drop us an email!
